Pedestrian Bridges

Cass Hayward has designed pedestrian and cycleway bridges of all structural forms in steel, concrete and composite constuction. These have been to provide improved access over roads, rivers and railways. Many of the bridges have been procured through design:construct Contracts with Cass Hayward acting as designers for the constructor or fabricator. |
They include bridges of arch form, through and half through trusses of warren and vierendeel style long span box girders with enhanced dynamic stiffness and aerodynamic stability.

Cass Hayward bridges over railways include those provided at stations with ramp and lift access for the disabled and some to replace level crossing over primary routes such as the East and West Coast Main lines where special details are required to preserve clearances to overhead electrification. |
| Cass Hayward has facilities and experience for advanced analysis necessary to investigate non linear behaviour, aerodynamic and dynamic effects including from pedestrian induced oscillations. |
