Cass Hayward has extensive experience in the design and construction of Ro-Ro berths, was an active member of the consultative committee for the preparation of Lloyds Rules for linkspans in 1997 and then engaged by the Institution of Civil Engineers to prepare the new British Standard BS6349: Marine Structures Part 8 : Code of Practice for the Design of Ro-Ro Ramps.

The design of facilities at Pembroke Dock, Port of Ipswich & Liverpool Cruise Liner Terminal has been checked.
These include link spans providing ship to shore access for passengers, road vehicles, roll trailers and special vehicles including military appliances. They service ferries with bow and stern connections, cruise liners and catamarans/fast ferries.
